The overriding objective of the role are :
i. to ensure that the audit/ accounts department operates efficiently and effectively
ii. staff productivity is maximised
iii. the standard of work complies with all regulatory and statutory requirements
iv. providing a quick turnaround of work whilst maintaining a high level of professional workmanship throughout the department
v. Freeing up partners’ time so that they can work on the continued development of the business. This is a key function of the managers’ role
Specific areas of responsibility are :
i. Planning & scheduling of audit and accounts assignments
ii. Monitoring job progress and work in progress
iii. Review all audit & accounts assignments
iv. Liaison with clients including attendance at planning and accounts completion meetings where appropriate
v. Monitoring and controlling other work such as bookkeeping and client VAT returns
vi. Staff training & development
ix. Internal processes and procedures – driving quality and efficiencies
